History:

  • 1948 – Established National (Japan) Tile Industry Association
  • 1963 - Established National (Japan) Mosaic Tile Industry Association
  • 1970 – Established Japan Exterior Floor Tile Industry Association
  • 1993 – Merger of National (Japan) Tile Industry Association and Japan Exterior Floor Tile Industry Association
  • 2000 – Merger of National (Japan) Tile Industry Association and National (Japan) Mosaic Tile Industry Association and renamed Japan Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association

Objective:

To carry out the necessary business to improve and develop small and medium-sized enterprises in the ceramic tile industry, to secure for opportunities for fair economic activities of these people and to stabilize and rationalize their management.

Overview of Business :

  1. (1) Collection and provision of information and materials (datas) related to ceramic tiles.
  2. (2) Research on production technology and quality improvement of ceramic tiles.
  3. (3) Research on domestic and foreign markets for ceramic tiles.
  4. (4) Promotion of various measures to stimulate and expand demand for ceramic tiles.
  5. (5) Formulation and dissemination of various standards for ceramic tiles.
  6. (6) Promotion of environmental protection and recycling of ceramic tiles.
  7. (7) Research and contract management of industrial property rights related to ceramic tiles.
  8. (8) Joint venture such as processing and sales of raw materials related to ceramic tiles.
  9. (9) Purchase and loan of machinery and equipment related to ceramic tiles.
  10. (10) Research and dissemination of improvement of installation method of ceramic tiles.
  11. (11) Holding lectures and workshops to improve the knowledge of association members.
  12. (12) Other projects necessary to achieve the objective of Japan Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association.
